Two UCU staff participated in a training on gender-responsive plant breeding that was held from 22-31 July 2019 at Makerere University. This training aimed at equipping researchers to create more inclusive and effective agricultural systems by addressing the priority of both women and men in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Two MSc and seven undergraduate students were attached to Kumi and Serere sub-counties where they provided agricultural extension services for three months (May-July, 2019).
